Privacy Policy: Kanavu Illam

1 About Us

Crescent Moon Consulting Services (“the Company”, “we”) operates the Kanavu Illam mobile app and kanavuillam.in (the “Service”) and acts as the Data Fiduciary. This Policy is framed under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act), the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the SPDI Rules, 2011.

2 Consent

By creating an account or signing in, you confirm you have read and accept this Policy and our Terms. Email sign-up requires an unticked checkbox accepting both. Google Sign-In shows links to both before sign-in completes. You may withdraw consent by deleting your account; withdrawal does not affect processing already done.

3 Data We Collect

• Account info (name, email, optional phone): for login and support. Stored in our cloud database until you delete your account.
• Site address / city (optional): printed on your PDF. Stored only on your device.
• Floor plan uploads: used for automated analysis. Held on temporary server disk and deleted promptly after processing (or at server restart if processing is interrupted).
• Calculated results (3D, Vastu, cost, structural): held temporarily to generate your report and deleted from our database promptly after you download your PDF, or automatically within 24 hours if the download is not completed. Only your project name and date are kept for your History list.
• Payment and delivery records: order ID, payment ID, amount and download timestamp, kept for tax, accounting and proof of delivery. We never receive card numbers or UPI PINs.
• Technical logs: IP address, device OS and app version, kept up to 30 days for security and rate limiting.
• Session token and language: stored on your device until you sign out or uninstall.

We do not collect precise location, contacts or advertising IDs, and we do not sell your data.

4 How We Use Data

To authenticate your account, analyse floor plans, compile your report, process payments, prevent fraud and abuse, respond to support and comply with law. Drawings are processed by our in-house computer-vision tools and are never sent to any external language model.

5 Service Providers

We share data only with providers that act on our instructions: cloud infrastructure and database hosts, Google (Sign-In), Razorpay (RBI-authorised payment aggregator) and a material-price search service that receives short keyword queries only, with no personal data or drawings. Some data may be processed on servers outside India, protected by encryption in transit and contractual safeguards. We may disclose data when required by law, court order or lawful government request, or to protect our rights and the security of the Service. We are not responsible for the independent practices of third-party providers.

6 Data Deletion

• On download: calculated results are deleted promptly after you download your PDF, or automatically within 24 hours if you do not, and cannot be recovered afterwards.
• In-app: Profile → Delete Account removes your account, profile and history.
• Web: kanavuillam.in/delete-account. Deletion is completed within 7 days after email verification.
• Retained by law: payment and billing records are kept as Indian tax and GST laws require. Backup copies are purged within 30 days. We cannot delete data stored on your device or files you saved outside the app.

7 Your Rights

Under the DPDP Act you may request a summary of your data, correction, erasure, withdrawal of consent and nomination of another person to act for you. Email grievance@kanavuillam.in from your registered email. We acknowledge within 24 hours and resolve within 15 days.

8 Security, Children and Changes

We use TLS encryption, session verification, access controls and rate limiting. No system is completely secure, and you are responsible for protecting your login and device. We will notify of confirmed breaches as the law requires. The Service is for users aged 18 and above, and minor accounts are deleted once identified. We may update this Policy by posting it with a new date; continued use means acceptance.
